An official from the Peshawar police stated that the operation was carried out in collaboration with the Shabqadar police to apprehend the suspects involved.
Law enforcement agencies raided four suspected hideouts linked to individuals accused of filming an obscene video of Karan Bhalla Cheating last year, allegedly using the footage for blackmail and extortion.
Peshawar police reaffirmed their commitment to arrest those involved in the harassment and blackmail of the transgender individual.
Notably, this marks the first case in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where a transgender person, Karan Bhalla Arrest, registered a complaint under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 for harassment and blackmail.
The KP police have charged seven individuals in connection with the case.
In her complaint, Karan Bhalla Cheating alleged that in 2023, a suspect identified as Imran, along with his accomplices, held her at gunpoint and recorded an obscene video, which was later used to blackmail and extort her.
She further stated that she became aware on October 29 that the video had gone viral on social media, severely affecting her reputation and causing distress to her family. Karan Bhalla Cheating
